Inspired by the iconic Japanese manga Doraemon, the concept reimagines the “computer pen” first introduced in the 1979 series—fully realized 46 years later. While grounding the idea in modern technology, we place equal emphasis on emotional continuity in use. Many existing products on the market stem from an adult’s imagination of what a toy should be, rather than from listening to children themselves. Together with the Tappi team, we conducted extensive user research to understand children’s genuine thoughts, enabling a shift in perspective and driving the product’s character and design direction. This led to a comprehensive product strategy—including design language, CMF (color, material, finish), brand tone guidelines, and an entire product lineup.
